OUR CHINESE TEACHERS
Academic Director
Dr Moni Lai Storz (nee' Lai Suan Tin) is our Academic Director and is responsible for the development and implementation of our Chinese studies curriculum using Accelerated Learning techniques. Dr Storz spent many years researching and experimenting with accelerated learning methods for the teaching and training of a range of subjects - Sociology, Stress Management, Cross-cultural Communication skills, Learning skills, etc. She was the first to apply Accelerated Learning techniques to the teaching of Chinese writing in Australia and this has been documented in her book: MIND BODY POWER:THE SELF HELP BOOK ON ACCELERATED LEARNING (Times Books International, Singapore, 1989, Reprinted 1990, 1993) Dr Storz claims that accelerated learning techniques have increased her creativity and expanded her consciousness. She writes fiction as a hobby. Her published works include, Notes To My Sisters (Times Books), Artworks of The Soul (GBS), Heaven Has Eyes (Monash Int.), Switch on Your Mind (Allen & Unwin). Her books can be obtained from our Shopfront. Moni founded this Chinese Centre 14 years ago and is now currently our Academic Director and Principal.
Executive Director
Jeffrey Lai is the Executive Director of the Australasian Centre of Chinese Studies and is responsible for the Chinese Centre globally from a strategic point of view. He is also the Executive Director of Global Business Strategies, a company specialising in cross-cultural mangement training for businesses around the Asia Pacific rim. He has an Electrical Engineering degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology from Monash University. Jeffrey has over fifteen years of experience in the computer industry working for Japanese, Italian and American computer companies prior to establishing ACCS and GBS. Jeffrey is also an experienced trainer using Accelerated Learning techniques. He was a lecturer at the Hawthorn campus of Melbourne University teaching a variety of subjects in the Information Technology area. He has also jointly given workshops and seminars on Accelerated Learning with Dr Moni Storz. He is a pioneer in the application of Accelerated Learning to the teaching of computer subjects.
Operations Manager
Shirley Lo is our Operations Manager and is responsible for the overseeing of all the activities in the organisation which contribute to the smooth and effective operations of ACCS such as supervising staff, project management, working with our clients, students and teachers. She obtained her Bachelor degree at Monash University in Melbourne. She had 30 years of experience in the corporate sector and was an Operations Manager for an international company before joining our organisation.
Chinese Centre Manager
Robert Wong comes from Malaysia originally and is fluent in both Chinese Mandarin and English. He was our Senior teacher at our Perth branch of the Australasian Centre of Chinese Studies (ACCS). He is now our Chinese Centre Manager and makes sure that all goes well with both our students and teachers. He is qualified in Marketing from Swinburne University.
Karo Jiaqiao Luo is from Guangzhou, China. She graduated from Shenzhen University with a Bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts in Dance Choreography and Psychology. She is currently studying a Master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapy at the University of Melbourne. Her native languages are both Mandarin and Cantonese. She has experience in teaching dance and art workshops. She hopes to extend her creative skills to help her students learn Chinese.
Wynnie Fan is from Chongqing. She completed a Bachelor's degree in Radio and Television Science at Wuhan University in China and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Arts and Cultural Management at the University of Melbourne. Her native language is Chinese. She has rich experience in education and hopes to bring the charm of Chinese to students.
Sunny Zhang is from Henan province. She is a native Mandarin and fluent English speaker. She is currently doing her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, studying Psychology, Sociology, and Chinese Studies. She is very energetic and passionate about teaching. She is keen to share her knowledge about Chinese language and culture with people. She hopes to help everyone who is interested in learning Chinese to have a pleasant and educational experience. 
Charlotte Lee is from Hong Kong. She is a native speaker of both Mandarin and Cantonese and also a fluent speaker of English. She completed a Bachelor's degree in Chinese and History at the City University of Hong Kong and gained hands-on experience in the educational sector. She is eager to apply her linguistic and cultural expertise to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment for her students.
Cathy Xinyue Zhang comes from Urumqi, Xinjiang, China. She is a native Mandarin speaker of Mandarin and is fluent in English. She is currently studying a Master of International Journalism at the University of Melbourne and has strong language expression, cross-cultural communication and writing skills. She is passionate about language teaching and hopes to help students learn Mandarin in a clear, patient and interactive way. She also hopes to help students build confidence in using Mandarin and gain a better understanding of Chinese language and culture.
Yanfei Li is from Chongqing, China, and her native language is Mandarin. She also speak a bit of Cantonese and Japanese. She’s currently studying Economics at the University of Melbourne. With her patience and passion for teaching, she hopes to share the Chinese language and culture with more people.
Zihan Ye is from Zhejiang Province, China, and is a native speaker of Mandarin. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics at the University of Melbourne. Having a strong foundation in language education, Zihan completed her undergraduate studies in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of other Languages and has a year of experience working as a Chinese teacher. She is passionate about sharing the beauty of the Chinese language and culture, tailoring her lessons to meet the unique needs of her students while inspiring their curiosity and love for Mandarin.
Lexie Cao is from Hunan Province. She is a native speaker of Mandarin and fluent in English. She is currently studying her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Media and Communication, and Sociology. She is passionate about teaching Chinese, and also sharing Chinese culture to people who with different cultural backgrounds. She aims to make classes enjoyable and funny.
Jen Tang is from Jiangsu Province, China, and is a native Mandarin speaker. She is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Melbourne in Mechanical Engineering. She enjoys sharing Chinese language and culture, and loves helping students learn Mandarin in a fun and friendly way.
Jennifer Xu comes from Chuzhou, Anhui. She is a native Chinese speaker. Now, she is pursuing her Master of Professional Accounting at the University of Sydney. She has tutored school students before in China including teaching children Chinese and Chinese culture in Lebanon as a volunteer. During her Bachelor degree, she joined a reading club related to Confucius and the Analects of Confucius. Thus, she is passionate about Chinese and Chinese culture, and will be glad to share them. 
Xin Meng comes from Taian, Shandong. She is a native Mandarin speaker. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD degree in Education at the University of Sydney. She has experience in teaching Chinese to college students at the University of Pennsylvania and was a Chinese tutor in the Confucius Institute at Temple University as well. She also has experience in conducting private Chinese lessons for high school students when she was in the US. With her passion for teaching Mandarin, she would love to share her knowledge of Chinese language and culture. 
Anthea Liu is from the Yunnan province in China. She is fluent in Mandarin and English. She currently studies at the University of Western Australia. She learned traditional Chinese Calligraphy since she was a child so she is good at Chinese Calligraphy as well. She has a passion for Chinese culture and Australian culture and she would love to share her knowledge of Chinese culture and language to others. 
Amy Chunmeng Wang comes from Changchun in Jilin province. She is a native speaker of Mandarin and fluent in English. She has completed her Bachelor degree majoring in English at the Ocean University of China. She also has a Master degree majoring in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other languages) from the University of Edinburgh. She is passionate about sharing Chinese language and culture and willing to help learners develop their interests in both.
Miriam Chiu is originally from Hong Kong. She is a native speaker of Cantonese and fluent in Mandarin and English. She currently studies a double major in English and Psychology at the University of Western Australia. She is passionate about teaching and loves to share her knowledge of Chinese culture as well as exploring the Australian culture. She is also willing to help students to learn effectively.
Suzie Jiaxin Liu is from Dalian City, Liaoning Province. She is a native speaker of Mandarin and fluent in English and Japanese. She has a Bachelor Degree majoring in International Business and a Masters of Arts and Cultural Management from the University of Melbourne. She has experience in teaching Chinese to exchange students with different cultural backgrounds, and she is very enthusiastic in sharing her Chinese and culture with interesting teaching approaches. 
Michelle Lin is originally from Hong Kong. She is a native speaker of Cantonese and fluent in Mandarin, English and Korean. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Criminology at the University of Adelaide and planning to start on an Honour Degree in 2023. She is passionate about teaching and loves to share the Chinese language and culture. She is also pleased to help students to learn Cantonese effectively without tears. 
Hulda Wu is from Guangzhou. She is a native Cantonese speaker and is also very fluent in Mandarin and English. Her undergraduate degree is in Chinese International Education and she is currently pursuing a Master degree in Event Management at the University of Queensland. She is very energetic and very passionate about teaching and has many years of experience in teaching English and Mandarin. She enjoys interacting with people from different cultural backgrounds and learning about different cultures. 
Adelaide Tsang is from Hong Kong. She is currently studying Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland. She is a native speaker of Cantonese and fluent in both English and Mandarin. She is very passionate about teaching and loves to share the Chinese language and culture.
