Australasian Centre of Chinese Studies (ACCS)
(School of Chinese Languages in Melbourne and Sydney)
Dr Dennis Wollersheim has set up a 'spaced repetition' flashcard-like computer program that helps memorise ACCS characters and sound content.
There are 3 ways to use the content:
First, on your PC, using the Mnemosyne program.
You need 2 parts: first, get and install Mnemosyne from:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mnemosyne-proj/files/mnemosyne/mnemosyne-1.2.1-setup.exe/download
Or, if you are using Macintosh systems, go to:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mnemosyne-proj/
Second, get the ACCS content:
http://dennis.wollersheim.ca/images/accs_mnemosyne_databases.zip
Unzip the latter file somewhere, and then open up one of the unzipped databases in Mnemosyne. For example, the database called mandarin_sound+character_lesson1-10.mem shows the character, says the sound, and expects the user to be able to remember the English character.
You can also use a Palm based phone, for flash card content, using
the Anki program. Again you need 2 parts;
Get Anki program itself (which runs on the Palm), and the Asian fonts, from:
http://www.anki.com/download.html
Then again, you need the ACCS databases

Finally, a student might also want to use the base spreadsheet, containing all the content, if they wanted to do other fun things. These can be found at:
